There are always things that come up that purchasers won't like about a new or revised product line. The features for the Tamagotchi Friends is no different. The Tamagatchi Friends retains many of the features of the old Tamagotchi and that in itself isn't entirely a good thing.

The screen display is still a little grainy. The dot matrix is retained, which is a shame, in this day of sharper, high-end LCD. It would have been a good idea to introduce newer games, though.

Wi-Fi would also have been appreciated, instead of purely relying on bumping and tapping.

This is subjective, however, the fans of the original Tamagotchi toys and Tamagotchi franchise will definitely purchase a Tamagotchi Friends toy without batting an eyelash.
